Pharmaniaga, the leading Malaysian company in the area of pharmaceutical drug supplies, is interested in adjusting the supplies of Flu-M, a new influenza vaccine produced by SPbSRIVS FMBA of Russia, in Malaysia.
The Pharmaniaga official delegation headed by Shamsinar Hardzhy Shaary, the Technical Director, visited the SPbSRIVS production site on July 4–5 this year. In the two-day negotiations, the parties discussed adjustment of the supplies of the new Russian influenza vaccine Flu-M in Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as the Malaysian project to construct a production facility in that country to produce the vaccines conforming to the Shariah laws (Halal-certified products).
‘We are ready to assist our partners in realization of this interesting project as the technological partner. Considering our experience in construction of an immunobiological production facility in Nicaragua (the Mechnikov Institute), we are sure that realization of this project and transfer of our vaccine production technology in Malaysia are possible’, said Victor Trukhin, the Director of the SPbSRIVS FMBA of Russia.
In addition, the Malaysian specialists have been interested in supplies of the tuberculosis diagnostic agent (tuberculin) and a number of the advanced medications currently developed by SPbSRIVS FMBA of Russia.
‘The Company intends to master new segments – oncological drugs and vaccines – drawing on cooperation with the global partners. Our company is aimed to satisfy the growing demand for high-quality products in these segments in Malaysia and Indonesia,’ said Ida Marianna Abdul Rashid, the Director for Strategic Planning.
For SPbSRIVS, Malaysia is a promising region in terms of supplying the influenza vaccine. In Malaysia, viral strains of both Hemispheres circulate; therefore, half-year vaccination is recommended here instead of the annual vaccination recommended for the most of countries. ‘In the negotiations, the vaccine for the Southern Hemisphere was what we discussed in particular,’ explained Anatoly Yevtushenko, the First Deputy Director of SPbSRIVS.
